The organ was originally built as Reuter's Opus 1889. It was expanded by nine ranks in 1989. This work included exchanging the placement of the Solo and Great divisions and re-engineering the other divisions to accomodate new chests and pipe. The finished renovation includes a total of 24 new ranks of pipes.
